Involved in numerous activities including sports, student council, National Honor Society, Speech Team. This is where my love for leadership and public service began.
Beyond those needed for my degree, I also completed several additional mathematics, accounting and economics classes.
Having a big sale, on-site celebrity, or other event? Be sure to announce it so everybody knows and gets excited about it.
If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
I love learning and have taken many additional classes to earn special designations for my real estate career.
This education designation is offered only by Mountain Metro Association of REALTORS®. All classes are approved for CE credit by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Real Estate. Mountain and rural areas are properties with unique features such as domestic and household wells, septic systems and leach fields, fire mitigation concerns, and easement issues, just to name a few. Our CMAS continuing education program covers these issues and more to provide the education needed to effectively market and sell these properties.

I am currently in my second term serving on the Platte Canyon School District Board of Education. I was nominated by my colleagues and have served as President since 2016. I also was elected to serve as President of the Mount Evans BOCES board (a co-op between Platte Canyon, Clear Creek and Gilpin School Districts) and served in that role from 2013 until 2018. I am term limited and therefore will not be running again when my term is up in 2021. I would like to continue to serve our community in a new role as County Commissioner.
While on school board, I have had the opportunity to attend the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) conference each year. In addition, I was fortunate to attend the National Association of School Boards (NASB) conference in 2017 when it was in Denver. These opportunities have provided me invaluable practical education that will be extremely beneficial in my role as Commissioner.
During my time on the board, I have seen our school district go through many changes and really excel. I have worked hard to improve transparency and continue to strive to improve myself and learn as much as I can. My time on the school board has also provided me a great deal of experience in budgeting and government finance which will be key in the role of County Commissioner.
As a Realtor, I have become very familiar with property issues and land use regulations. I am well versed in the specific things unique to our rural county including wells, septics and water rights. I am also a Certified Mountain Area Specialist which entailed additional education specific to mountain properties.
I love working with people and find that I am more of a life coach than a sales person. When people are buying or selling a home, they are going through a big transition in their lives. Most likely, they are experiencing some kind of major life change (beyond just the move). I help people through job transitions, marriage, divorce, growing families, and loss.
All of my real estate experience has not only helped with with practical, hands on topics that are critically important to know as a Commissioner, but it has also helped me with the less obvious, but critically important, ability to work with people. In addition, I am an expert negotiator for my clients and I will bring that to the table in my role as Commissioner.
Professionally, I am an entrepreneur at heart. I have successfully started, grown and profitably run businesses including a cleaning business, insurance agency and real estate business. Running these businesses has given me first-hand experience in finance and budgeting.
I also serve on the Platte Canyon Little League Board and have been a coach for many years. Previously, I was the coordinator for the Bailey MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group and volunteered with Cub Scouts. I actively volunteer in my church, the schools and community where I am able and try to set an example for my sons to do the same. I am a precinct person and am active in the Park County Republican Central Committee. In these roles, I have had the privilege of working with great people and have witnessed first-hand what a difference a few caring and dedicated people can make.
